The golden drops of Aberfeldy
Aberfeldy Distillery, located in the heart of the Scottish Grampians mountain range, is praised for its firm and concentrated single malt. They use this whiskey, which is considered the strongest in the Midlands, especially to make it blends together like the famous Dewar's White Label. But especially for those who bring them also two official versions of these single malt on the market: the 12 year old and a 21 year old.
One 'golden dram' please ...
The Aberfeldy distillery is one of the last in Perthshire. For their whiskey they draw water from the mineral-rich Pitilie Burn, a valued resource for its pure nature and the abundant gold mineral deposits. It is not for nothing that when reference is made in the region to the single malt from Aberfeldy, they often talk about the 'golden dram "(literally golden dram). And thus not only refer to the golden color.
Typical notes of honey
The unique spring water, together with malt from the Highlands for a powerful but accessible whiskey packed test of cereal and fruit. Honey keys, which you recognize a typical Aberfeldy, are the result of a long fermentation process in which all the flavors have fully flourish. The 'wash' (the drink resulting after fermentation) is then distilled in copper stills (stills), more than a century ago handmade. Finally whiskey aged in oak barrels until it is perfectly ripe.
