Single malt whiskey with intense oak notes, delicate citrus and a delicious aroma.
The finish has light hints of coffee beans.
The typical Ben Nevis fudge. Cherry, peach, orange and red apple.
Toffee, peach, cherry, apple and mint.
Caramel, cherry, peach, apple and mocha.
Nice standard bottling. Not very complex, but I like its full profile. One of the best sherried whiskies in its price class.
Dry grass and distant peat smoke. Complex spices and cereal appear.
Again spicy and crisp bread, soft peat smoke and bitter orange marmalade together with cracked black pepper and grain. This is a single malt and yet there is some grainy influences. Is it bad thing? Not at all!
The finish is short to medium, spicy and with distant smoke.
If I've tasted this blind I would probably have guessed a good quality blended whisky with high malt content. The emphasis is on good quality. And definitely an affordable good dram to enjoy.
