This beautiful Peated Virgin Oak Finish is the most peated whiskey from the wood-finish series by Glenglassaugh. The whiskey undergoes an afterglow in Virgin Oak barrels, resulting in a nice flavor combination between peat, herbs and sweet.
After being first stored in American oak first-fill barrels, this whiskey then matured for 2 years in Virgin Oak barrels specially selected for this by Glenglassaugh whiskymaker Rachel Barrie.
Nose: creamy vanilla, herbs and peated barley, light caramelised sugar, roasted barley and a delicious light peat smoke.
Taste: crunchy with notes of ginger, sweets and toffee. This is constantly supplemented with tones of peat smoke.
Finish: soft candied fruit and spiciness in the background, light peat smoke and delicious sugars.
