Lagavulin 12 Years Old Cask Strength 2015 Release
Special Release 2015
'Printen' in milk chocolate, including the gentle gingerbread spices in there. Surprisingly fruity as well: Pineapple, citrus, pear and a little peach. Of course there is peat, but it's disguised as those chocolate and spice notes. A little bread dough and mocha in the background. When adding water the fruity notes completely overtake the rest.
Peat, pepper and again more fruit than I'm used to in this expression. Mainly pineapple, candied orange and lemon. Some toffee as well. Water really turns it into a tropical cocktail.
Peat, candied lemon and pineapple.
Comparing this one to the 11th edition my first impression is confirmed: This release is exceptionally fruity.
In the Distillers Editions the older editions cannot be beat by the new ones, but with this one I've got the impression that it's the other way around (although I've never tasted the first 6).
