Peat smoke, caramel, citrus, red berries, raspberry, candied orange, grapefruit, tonic and marshmallow. Though not hugely upfront, there is a very clear Oloroso sherry influence.
Taste
Peat, raspberry, orange, brine, caramel, grapefruit, sea salt, pepper, vanilla, espresso, chocolate cookies, marshmallow and eucalyptus.
Finish
Peat, burnt wood, espresso, grapefruit and pepper.
Comments
The sherry influence curbs the peatiness a bit. A very nice whisky for its price range, but I wouldn't say it's better than the quarter cask.
