Straffe Hendrik is a triple with an alcohol content of 9%.
Already in origin the beer was brewed by the De Halve Maan brewery in Bruges.
At the request of the then mayor brewed Henri Maes and his daughter Véronique in 1981 once a slightly stronger lager for the inauguration of the statue of St. Arnold, the patron saint of brewers. However, it was so valued was again asked. The aptly named Straffe Hendrik, since the beer was stronger and well hopped.
Today is the last authentic Straffe Hendrik Bruges Tripel beer, brewed in Bruges.
