Maybe it's because summer is near: Some whisky producers currently present new bottlings that they recommend for cocktails and long drinks. For the first time, Glenmorangie also introduces a single malt that the whisky makers have specially developed for this purpose: Glenmorangie X - made for mixing.

The whisky for the Glenmorangie X was matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and was then finished in new char oak casks for additional aroma development. The current press release does not reveal how long the whisky was matured in the casks. The Glenmorangie X is bottled at 40% vol.

Developed in collaboration with bartenders

"X by Glenmorangie came from our dream of creating even more flavour possibilities, with a single malt that is made to mix. Consulting with top bartenders, we crafted this sweeter, richer single malt for all those enjoying mixing at home,” said Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s director of whisky creation. To make it easier for non-professionals to use this X-factor, Glenmorangie offers various long drink and cocktail recipes here on their homepage. The Glenmorangie X combines, for example, with lemon juice, elderflower syrup and soda for the Glenmorangie X Date Night, with grapefruit juice, orange juice and agave syrup for the Glenmorangie X brunch or with ginger beer for the Glenmorangie X BBQ.
