You can combine the wine wonderfully with Mediterranean dishes, lamb, couscous, mature cheeses, classic stew and game dishes. Serving temperature: 16-18°C

Producer

In 1930, at just 20 years old, Gaston Hochar founded Chateau Musar, inspired by Lebanon's 6,000-year-old winemaking tradition and his travels in Bordeaux. His 'wines with noblesse' made a great impression on senior officers in the army after the French Mandate of the 1920s. Major Ronald Barton, from Château Langoa-Barton, stationed in Lebanon during World War II, became a close friend and strengthened ties between Chateau Musar and Bordeaux that exist to this day.

Serge Hochar, Gaston's eldest son, trained as a civil engineer, then decided to study oenology and was encouraged by his father. He became the winemaker of Chateau Musar in 1959, Gaston senior having graciously made way. He then spent 18 years perfecting the formula for Chateau Musar's Red and was selected as Decanter Magazine's first 'Man of the Year' in 1984 for his dedication to producing excellent quality wines during the Lebanese Civil War (1975-1990). ). Serge had two sons: Gaston and Marc. Both studied construction and worked in the banking sector. Gaston now manages the daily management of the Chateau Musar winery, Marc the commercial aspects.
