The wine is rich and robust with lovely notes of wood and spice, black plums, and berries. Its acidity, young tannins, and firm texture make it suitable for aging.
Bordeaux-born Frenchman Hervé J. Fabre arrived in Argentina in the early 1990s, seeking opportunities to invest in vineyards. Impressed by the potential and quality of the Malbec grape, he decided in 1992 to build his first winery: Fabre Montmayou. Because of the impression the Malbec grape had made on him, he became one of the first pioneers of Argentine wine made from a single grape variety. In 2015, Hervé decided to return to his roots. Together with his wife Diane, he invested in vineyards located in Cénac. Cénac is situated in the Cahors wine region, the original home of the Malbec grape. Cénac is located over 200 km east of Bordeaux on the Lot River. Hervé and Diana's vineyards are situated on the Causses, a group of limestone plateaus dating back to the Jurassic period, at almost 300 meters above sea level. The vineyards are exposed to a Mediterranean climate, with continental influences in the form of moderate rainfall. The chalky soil is covered with clay, rich in iron and manganese: ideal conditions for the Malbec grape. These conditions, combined with Hervé's passion and expertise, enable him to produce exceptional wines.
