These are the secrets of Solaia, along with the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese grapes from the eponymous vineyard.

Utmost precision characterized both the harvest in the vineyard and the vinification in the cellar. Only the finest destemmed grapes reached the conical fermentation tanks, preceded by careful selection. The balance between fruit and tannins was crucially maintained during fermentation and maceration on the skins. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation followed in barriques, which contributed to the wine's complexity. Maturation in new French oak for 16 months, with batches matured and blended separately, further refined the wine. This resulted in a wine with rich aromas and soft tannins.

Intense ruby red in color with violet hues, the nose of Solaia 2022 is remarkably complex: intense notes of small, dark, ripe fruit, particularly blackcurrants, blackberries, and purple plums, leading to fresh hints of mint, myrtle, and spicy notes of white pepper. Sweet aromas of powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and licorice are seamlessly integrated. The attack on the palate is rich, appealing, and lively, with an excellent and balanced structure. Silky tannins accompany a long finish, characterized by a lingering aftertaste with hints of dark chocolate.
