The Kapistoni Tavkveri Qvevri is a dry wine with fresh acidity, the perfect wine for advanced enthusiasts. This natural wine turns a beautiful dark red in the glass and smells of wild herbs, licorice, blackberries and berries. Fresh fruit of blueberries and blackberries are recognizable in the taste. In the aftertaste you will taste slightly drying tannins. We recommend combining the wine with veal, beef, lamb and hard cheeses. The wine is best served at a temperature of 14-20 °C.

Kapistoni Winery is a small, young wine company from the Georgian province of Kartlia, close to the capital Tbilisi. Kapistoni is the life's work of Niko Chochishvili. He remigrated from the United States in 2010. Making wine was initially a 'side job', but Niko is very enthusiastic. Making wine is his calling. In 2017 he had a wine cellar built and since then his passion has been his (life's) work. He makes natural wines in qvevri'. They are clean and pure. He uses grape varieties that are rare even in Georgia.

As far as Niko is concerned, it is about three things: good equipment and technology, hygiene in the cellar and love for the profession. Niko is a spiritual person. In his philosophy, as a winemaker you make contact with nature in the vineyard and you give love to the maturing wine. This is the only way to make better wine every year than the previous year.
