Tasting notes: Extremely pale salmon-pink color, aromas of juicy small red fruit and grapefruit. On the palate supported by ripe fruit, some minerals, and a slight crispness.
Serving suggestions: As an aperitif and patio wine, with many light meat and fish dishes and salads.
Region: In the extreme south of France, close to the Mediterranean Sea, lies the ancient wine region of Oc. Its name is derived from the medieval name Occitane. This region is bathed in sunlight and permeated with the scents of garrigue, pine, cypress, almond, and olive trees.
About the winery: Every year, it is a significant challenge for Jerôme Vic and his wife Aurélie to bring in another healthy harvest from the vineyards of Les Domaines Robert Vic. This is because the vineyards cover a total area of over 180 hectares and feature diverse soil structures and microclimates. One section consists of ash originating from the extinct volcano Roque Haute. Additionally, another section has a basalt subsoil, as well as clay and gravel from the nearby Libron river. This combination makes the task complex for the winemaker. Robert Vic's grandfather, the founder of Les Domaines Robert Vic, made his fortune distilling simple wine into alcohol. Fortunately, in the 1960s, his son Georges realized that this was not the future for the company and began replanting the vineyards with higher-quality grapes for fine wines. Today, the grapes are literally still harvested here, as plots with old vines from this period remain on a portion of the vineyards.
