The producer

Medea winery is located in the village of Vodnjan in Croatian Istria. It was founded by the Floricić family. The winery has been called Medea since 2005 and is named after the god's daughter Medea from Greek mythology. The company was privatized in the 1990s.

The winery is the second largest winery in Istria with its 60 hectares of vineyards and 40 hectares of olive groves. The vines are on rich red soil. The main grape grown here is the Istarska Malvazija. Merlot is the most important grape variety for red wines. The winery grows Teran and Cabernet Sauvignon, among others.
