Medea Teran 0.75 ltr 13.5%

Medea Teran is an astronomical red wine from the Croatian wine region of Istria. This award-winning wine contains acidic and soft tannins and is pleasantly fruity. The grapes are picked manually and carefully selected. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel barrels for 7 days. The wine matures four months after fermentation, this is done using the sur lie method. Before the wine leaves the winery, it rests in the bottle for a month after bottling.

Taste character

This delicious wine turns purple-red, which is supported by fresh and fruity flavors. The aromas remind you of blueberries, raspberries and perhaps even currants. It also has a hint of licorice and pepper. Make no mistake, the Medea Teran may have a short name, but its taste is very extensive!

Perfect food combination

The freshness of this wine is delicious in combination with fresh pasta, game dishes and a snack board. Do not serve chilled, the temperature may be between 16 and 18 Celsius.

About the winery

Medea emerged from the cooperative Agroprodukt Vodnjan, the winery is located in the Croatian village of Vodnjan. The Floricić family took over the company from the government and has turned it into a successful winery. Medea is one of the largest wine producers in Istria. Excellent grape varieties grow here, thanks to the rich red soil. The most important grape variety in this wine region for the production of white wines is the Istarska Malvazija. For red wine, Merlot, Teran (in the Italian Friuli region this grape variety is called Refosco) and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown here.
