Petrolo Galatrona is one of the world's most coveted 100% Merlots and is considered the estate's "Grand Cru." This iconic wine is often compared to greats like Petrus and Masseto, but offers a more accessible price point, making it a favorite among collectors.

From the Bazzocchi family's organically certified estate in the Val d'Arno di Sopra, the wine comes from a single vineyard. The unique soil, rich in clay, slate, marl, and sandstone, gives the wine its characteristic structure, elegance, and persistence.

The rare 2023 vintage is described as "delicate." It's not bombastic, but rather a paragon of refinement and finesse, awarded 95 points by Vinous. Expect complex aromas of dark blue fruit, plum, clove, and mint, with a soft, velvety texture and a long, spicy finish.

With impressive cellaring potential until at least 2043, this is a wine for the cellar. Enjoyed young, it pairs beautifully with dishes like filetto di manzo with truffle or aged pecorino after decanting (at 17°C).
