The frappato is a typical Sicilian grape used, for example, in the famous DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittorio. The wine is made from hand-picked grapes and aged for 8 to 10 months in French and American oak tonneaux

Wine Estate Tenute Orestiadi was founded by a cooperative of winegrowers and the Orestiadi Foundation, a cultural institution that aims to promote the Sicilian native grapes (and art). The name of the domain refers to the legend of Aeschylus about Orestes and the Orestiadi. The vineyards are located around Gibellina, in the Belice valley near Trapani on the western side of Sicily. The warmth of the sun and the cool sea breeze create unique climatic conditions there. Indigenous grapes from all kinds of small zones with specific microclimates and terroir characteristics are processed through modern vinification technology and wine storage. This results in wines rich in character and elegance that reflect the great diversity of Sicily
