The delicious Vina Carić Cesarica owes its fresh taste to a 12-hour cold soaking process. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a cold fermentation in stainless steel barrels with specially cultivated yeast. Through this process the wine retains its freshness and aromas.

Cesarica is made from the following grape varieties - Bogdanjuša, Pošip and Maraština. These grape varieties are mainly grown on the island of Hvar. Fun fact, the literal translation of Bogdanjuša is a godsend.

Taste character of Vina Carić Cesarica

Vina Carić Cesarica is straw yellow in color and has an impressive taste of fruity and floral aromas. This delicious wine has a fresh taste with elements of yellow fruit of apricot, quince, ripe citrus and peach. The wine has a refined aftertaste of marzipan.

Vina Carić Cesarica is an aperitif that can also be enjoyed with a delicious piece of white cheese. Cesarica also goes well with risotto with seafood or poultry. Please serve the wine chilled at 12 degrees.

The Carić winery

The small-scale winery called Vina Carić (Tsaritsj) is located on the island of Hvar, in the Adriatic Sea and has only 5 hectares of its own vineyards. The grapes are also purchased from other wine growers. The winery's focus is mainly on Bogdanuša and Plavac Mali grape varieties.

Ivo Carić is the owner, a resourceful winemaker who is very creative in making exciting blends. He blends these delicious grapes and gets an excellent quality end result. A great example of this is De Vina Carić Cesarica 2020. A unique Dalmatian Cuvée called Cesarica (Tsésárietsá - translated queen or empress) is recognized as the empress among the white wines from the island of Hvar. Which is of course not surprising, as the 2020 vintage won the gold medal at the Balkans International Wine Competition.
