Born from a bold vision, Ao Yun is the first great wine from the foothills of the Himalayas, deep in the heart of the Mekong Valley. The 31 hectares of vineyards are situated at an extreme altitude of 2,100 to 2,600 meters and consist of 773 sub-parcels managed by 131 local families. This extraordinary terroir, shaped by altitude, complex soils of clay, schist, and granite, and an extreme climate, produces a wine of remarkable power and refinement.

The 2022 vintage enjoyed the best conditions to date, with even rainfall and abundant sunshine. This resulted in homogeneous growth and the highest quality harvest in the estate's history, with no less than 62% of the grapes selected for the grand vin . For the first time, no press wine was used, and aging took place partly in glass jars and earthenware to ensure maximum purity and finesse.

Tasting note
The wine has a gleaming, intense ruby red color. On the nose, restrained yet seductive aromas of tart cherry, raspberry, cocoa, eucalyptus, and subtle roses with a pronounced freshness. The palate reveals a complex texture of ethereal fruit, seamlessly integrated with fine-grained tannins, making the wine accessible even in its youth. The depth and intensity balance beautifully with a lively acidity, ending in a seemingly endless finish with a salty note.
