Château d'Yquem, de top van Sauternes, biedt een onvergetelijke proefervaring. De complexe smaken ontwikkelen zich harmonieus en zorgen voor een langdurig genot, vergelijkbaar met de stilte na een prachtig muziekstuk. De uitzonderlijk lange afdronk, in het Frans "il fait la queue du paon" genoemd, spreidt zich als een pauwenstaart over de tong.

De unieke kwaliteit van Yquem komt voort uit het speciale microklimaat van de wijngaard, gelegen op de hoogste heuvel van Sauternes, en de edele rotting van de druiven. Deze nobele rotting, veroorzaakt door de schimmel Botrytis cinerea, geeft de wijn zijn kenmerkende complexiteit en zoetheid.

Lots of botrytis, with turmeric, saffron, cream, roasted meringue, pine nuts, spices and dried mangoes. This is a powerful, seductive and lush wine. Ornamented and richer this year than 2021, but there is so much charm and harmony. Long and spicy, with a hint of petrol at the end. Wow.
