Glen Scotia’s annual festival bottlings have built a strong reputation thanks to their distinct and intriguing flavour profiles. The Campbeltown Malts Festival 2026 release continues this tradition. This medium-peated single malt has matured for seven years. The whisky was first matured in first-fill bourbon casks and subsequently finished for six months in ruby port casks. The result is a whisky with a beautiful balance between liveliness, depth, and Glen Scotia’s distinctive coastal character. The double cask maturation provides pronounced flavours of ripe red fruit, subtle sweet peat, and warming spices, supported by a rich, maritime undertone that references Glen Scotia’s historical ties to maritime trade.
Small region with a big personality
Ashley Smith, Master Blender at Glen Scotia, explains: “This year’s festival release is a true celebration of Glen Scotia’s powerful Campbeltown character. The whisky offers Glen Scotia’s signature maritime salinity, complemented by layers of soft peat, vibrant red fruit, and warming spices derived from the finish in ruby port casks. It is a whisky that develops beautifully on the palate and manages to surprise time and again. The Campbeltown Malts Festival is a special moment for us every year, when the town comes to life with visitors from all over the world. Campbeltown may be small, but it has a big personality and a proud whisky tradition.”
