Product description

0.06ltr. 54.2%vol

Our Master Blender personally selects the "reserve cellar" casks that best reflect traditional Victorian value. Each barrel is chosen for its unique character and exceptional ripeness. The result of the finish in deep roasted oak barrels, is an exceptionally smooth Single Malt Whisky, with aroma and taste in perfect harmony. Bottled in the traditional way straight from the cask and without filtration, the subtle wood and vanilla aromas are enhanced by a full spicy fruit aroma and a mild smoky aftertaste. This beautiful liquid is bottled at 51.5 o proof.

Nose:
Dark again. An elegant nose with hints of oak, carry the bouquet. Interesting crème brûlée notes lead to generously caramelized fruit and finally to polished oak.

Taste:
A sweet and concentrated start with some blackcurrant fruitiness. A large middle palette. Typical tightening to the rear palette. Gets a little more sober with water.

Finish:
Clear and initially sweet. Then green beans, with cocoa characteristics.

The Loch Lomond Group (LLG) includes the two active distilleries Glen Scotia and Loch Lomond. In addition, LLG also has the stock of the prestigious closed distillery Littlemill in its ranks. This makes the history of the LLG brands one of the oldest in the Scottish whiskey industry. The company's brands are characterized by the typical identity of the regions where the different whiskeys come from.

In glorious Victorian times, the whiskey region of Campbeltown was the epic center of Scotland's whiskey industry. At the time, there were more than 30 distilleries in the region. However, much has changed over the years and many distilleries on the peninsula have closed. The closing of many distilleries in combination with the limited supply and high demand has led to a shortage of whiskey with the salty nose. Campbeltown is an isolated place, far from civilization and unique from the other areas in Scotland. The whiskey distilled here is also unique and not comparable to whiskeys that come from the Speyside, Highlands, Islay or the Lowlands. Despite the fact that there are currently only a few distilleries active in Campeltown, the style is quirky and has a unique and individual character. Due to its uniqueness, the Campbeltown region has been classified as one of the 5 regions of Scotland. Each region has its own specific character and so does the whiskey from the Campbeltown peninsula, where only three distilleries are currently active.

Glen Scotia, founded in 1832, is one of those three distilleries. It is also one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. The craftsmanship and love for the water of life can still be seen at Glen Scotia. Each barrel is still selected and inspected by the Master Blender, John Peterson. The Glen Scotia distillery is almost in the same condition as it was in the 19th century when the then owner Duncan MacCallum refurbished the distillery. An idyllic place that makes many whiskey lovers' hearts beat faster.
