The Kurayoshi Pure Malt 2026 Special Release Horse Edition is the new edition of the Zodiac Label series from Matsui Whisky. The label is made of Kiryu Ori, a Japanese woven textile known for its high quality and used to make kimonos and luxury clothing accessories.

During the Chinese New Year, the Horse (马 – mǎ) is one of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. It embodies strong symbolism, both dynamic and sunny, and paves the way for free spirits and daring projects. This special edition is the result of a careful selection of whiskies and fresh mineral water filtered through underground rocks from the snow-capped peaks of Mount Daisen, offering rich aromas of dried fruit and roasted nuts.

Appearance : Golden amber with a bright, inviting clarity.

Nose: Rich and complex, with an initial burst of dried fruit – apricots, raisins, and figs – followed by subtle notes of roasted nuts.

Taste : Soft and balanced, with flavors of sweet malt, caramel, and a mix of dried fruit.

Finish : The finish of the Kurayoshi Year of the Horse Whisky is medium to long, with persistent notes of dried fruit, soft oak, and a subtle smokiness. The finish is warming and leaves a pleasant sweetness in the mouth that gradually fades.
