The Ultimate Balmenach 2016 10Y is a special Speyside single malt whisky, distilled in 2016 and bottled at 46% alcohol by the Dutch independent bottler Van Wees after ten years of maturation. This exclusive bottling has matured in a Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry hogshead, resulting in a rich and seductively sweet character. The nose reveals aromas of raisins, dates, dried figs, and caramel, complemented by notes of dark chocolate and warm spices. The taste is full and creamy, with accents of toffee, candied orange peel, dried fruit, and spicy oak. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of sweet sherry, chocolate, and a pleasant spiciness.
