Flavor Description:

Balcomie Cask Strength is a limited edition release for 2022. This light, sweet and fruity Single Malt has been aged in American oak butts that have previously been used to age sherry using the traditional solera method. This means that the hard wood characters have been pushed into the background, resulting in an elegant whiskey where the sweet spirit is perfectly balanced with the soft sherry notes of the cask that matures it.

Nose : Soft caramel, fruit tart with sultanas, raisins and syrup.

Taste : The palate follows this with the sweetness of pineapple syrup and cinnamon spice.

Finish : Has a good length of crystallized ginger and hazelnut milk chocolate.

Extra Information: Kingsbarns was opened in 2014 by the Wemyss Family, who have been active in the drinks industry for many years. They are best known as an independent bottler in the whiskey world. The distillery is built in a derelict historic farmhouse in the area where many Scottish grains are grown, the Kingdom of Fife.
