The barrel has undergone a special journey, because it started as a Madeira barrel. After that it was used in rum production and in a wet state this barrel arrived at NC'NEAN Distillery. The whisky that had been in a bourbon barrel since 2018 was transferred to this unique rum barrel at the end of 2022. The whisky underwent a finish of approximately two years and developed, in addition to the characteristic freshness of NC'NEAN, flavors such as banana and Spanish pepper. In May 2025, the whisky was bottled as the very first NC'NEAN Single Cask exclusively for the Netherlands. The result: 228 bottles at a cask strength alcohol percentage of 60.4% alc.

Tasting notes:

On the nose a lot of fruit, namely apricot, orange and banana. In the background also a sweetness, which reminds me of pancake syrup. Then on the pallet come the tropical flavors and with some spicy notes to lead. For me banana, cinnamon and marmalade jump out. The aftertaste is very long and has a light kick where peppers predominate.
