Mizuho is a series of two traditional awamoris, produced by the Mizuho Distillery on the island of Okinawa. Mild Mizuho 5 Years Old is an aged Awamori (“Kusu”) in a ceramic still, produced by the Mizuho Distillery on the island of Okinawa in the Ryukyu Archipelago. Awamori is the oldest Japanese spirit. It is made using a unique distillation process with Thai rice and requires the use of a special type of mold needed during fermentation: the Koji. “Kusu” Awamori must age for at least 3 years and is more comparable to aged whiskies or brandies!
