The golden drops of Aberfeldy
Aberfeldy Distillery, located in the heart of the Scottish Grampians mountain range, is praised for its solid and concentrated single malt. They use this whiskey, which is regarded as the strongest in the Midlands, especially to make it blends together like the famous Dewar's White Label. But especially for those who bring them also two official versions of these single malt on the market: those 12 years old and 21 years old.
One 'golden dram' please ...
The Aberfeldy distillery is one of the last in Perthshire. For their whiskey they draw mineral-rich water from the Pitilie Burn, a well appreciated for its pure nature and the abundant gold mineral deposits. It is not for nothing that when reference is made in the region to the single malt from Aberfeldy, they often talk about the "golden dram" (literally golden dram). And thus they are not only referring to the golden color.
Typical keys of honey
The unique spring water, together with barley malt from the Highlands for a powerful, yet accessible whiskey packed with notes of cereal and fruit. Honey keys, which you can recognize a typical Aberfeldy, are the result of a long fermentation process in which all the flavors have fully flourish. The 'wash' (the drink that occurs after fermentation) is then distilled in copper alembics (stills), more than a century ago handmade. Finally whiskey aged in oak barrels until it is perfectly ripe.
