The 11th in the Icons of Wales Edition whiskey series is the Penderyn Patagonia. This is the first blended malt whiskey that Penderyn has ever produced. They achieved this by marrying their own single malt with that of the La Alazana Distillery in Patagonia. The bottle is bottled at 43% abv.

On July 28, 1865, 153 sailed on the Mimosa. This group of people then sailed to Patagonia to set up a Welsh colony and preserve their language and culture there. These were difficult times, but today there are 50,000 people living in Patagonia who are descended from this group of Welsh people. Of these, 5,000 speak Welsh and they also hold an annual Eisteddfodau (Festival in Wales with music, literature & performances. You can rightly call this piece of earth Little Wales beyond Wales .

Poof note

Smell: Sweet, floral and perfumed. Fruits normally found in orchards - green apples and sweet pears -, vanilla and a light aroma of honey and caramel can also be discovered.

Taste: Well balanced. Sweet honey, apple pie and juicy pears combine beautifully with vanilla and light oak notes. A blend of spices including cinnamon, pepper and a hint of clove come together with almond and creamy toffee.

Finish: Dried fruit lingers and sweet herbs also make an appearance.
