The Teeling family has been making Irish whiskey since 1782. With the opening of the new Teeling Whiskey distillery in Dublin's Liberties region, the Teelings have achieved what they had long envisioned: reintroducing the tradition of Irish distilling to the capital. And with that they have once again brought Teeling and Irish whiskey to the fore.

To celebrate this rise and the next chapter in the golden age of Irish whiskey, Teeling is proud to release the second release in their Rising Reserve series. A 21 year old Single Malt whiskey that has had a second maturation period in high quality ex-Marsala barrels.

Rising Reserve No.2

The Rising Reserve Series is a successor to the popular, successful & award-winning Revival and Renaissance bottlings. Originally released to celebrate the opening of the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, these series were tributes to the resurrection and rebirth of the tradition of distilling in Dublin. The second member of the Rising Reserve Series consists of a 21 YO Single Malt that was initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels for 16 years. This whiskey was then finished in unique, high-quality ex-Marsala barrels, and the maturation lasted more than 5 years. Beautiful flavors of citrus and honeysuckle-like sweetness with a soft spiciness have been given to this whisky.

Smell: A soft vanilla sweetness blends with toasted apricot, tobacco and richly spiced fruit. You will smell sweet bitter orange and roasted almonds.

Taste: Creamy, warm mouthfeel with hints of brown sugar and stewed fruit. This is followed by oak tannins and cinnamon-like spices.

Aftertaste: Long, warm aftertaste in which honeysuckle, rich unrefined cane sugar, citrus and herbs follow and alternate.
